Surrogacy is an option for same sex couple, gay and single -

We feel so incredibly lucky and blessed,” say Sydney couple Adam and David Haysom-McDowell, who became ‘Daddy and ‘Pappa’ to baby Maya last November.
Together for decades, they were married in New York City in December 2012. After many years of trying to decide if starting a family was right for them, a female friend offered to be their surrogate.
As NSW is currently reviewing the surrogacy legislation which currently allows couples such as Adam and David to become parents, Same Same chatted to them about the legals, logistics and love involved in their surrogacy journey.

Same Same: Of course, starting a family is a huge decision. How long did you both think about it?
Adam: We’ve been together 22 years now, and it was probably within five years of being together that we started to discuss having kids one day. But back then it was all a bit daunting and there wasn’t a lot of information about it. You know, it’s much harder for two guys to have a family than it is for two girls.
It wasn’t until about three years ago that we thought, well, being a little bit older now, if we really want to do this then we’d better start. For a lot of parents, and certainly for me, there’s an innate desire to have children. It’s something that you can’t explain, but you just know that you want to have a family and children to share your life with.

Study finds same-sex parenting is not harmful for children - Surrogacy is an option!

The report on same sex-parented families in Australia, commissioned by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS), found "there is now strong evidence that same-sex-parented families constitute supportive environments in which to raise children''.
The findings are at odds with Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi's recent comments that the "gold standard" for children's development is having a biological mother and father who are married.
Report author Deb Dempsey, who reviewed all the research on same sex-parented families, said there was a wealth of evidence that showed the children were doing fine.
''It's not the family structure that matters so much as the kind of care; that children know they are loved, and are taken care of," she said.
